Since our return to school in September 2020, Resurrection School has been focused on maintaining full time in-school education for our students. As part of this ongoing effort, Resurrection School initiated optional on-site COVID testing. This testing is open to all students, staff, and families through an automated sign-up process. We have held 6 “Testing Tents” to date and have had an excellent turn out. We believe this testing is very important, in particular because it helps us to find any asymptomatic positive cases. Identifying a positive case allows us to quarantine that individual and/or the class if necessary and engage our team of professional cleaners to disinfect and thoroughly clean our school. We have made a point to schedule testing following the return from school vacations. In addition to the testing, we also offer optional remote learning for students the week following school vacations, for any families who want to take extra caution.
We also need to show our many thanks to the Canter Family. Both doctors have given their time and money to support our testing tent bi-monthly. Dr. Melissa Canter takes the time to make sure the testing tent is scheduled, and Dr. Michael Canter has been on hand to swab the children five years and younger on the day of the test. They have also covered any expenses incurred for the support staff.
